The dam and bridges in the Vaughan Woods were built in the 19th Century. The granite dam was a replacement for a breached earthen dam. At this time the land was open with mills downstream from the dam.
The stories of Kennebec County will be told through storyboards with the images of the people,the towns, its agricultural heritage, and the industries of the 19th century.
